Current Vacancies

Sr. Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager reports directly to the President & CEO and will have an in-depth knowledge of commercial construction execution, project management, and client management.

As a Senior Project Manager at METTKO you will:

    • Ensure the successful completion of the project, its profitability, and for retaining the owner as a continuing client of METTKO
    • Monitor/control construction progress through administrative direction of on-site project personnel to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
    • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintain good relationships with client
    • Assist with reviews and negotiate contracts; liaise with legal counsel as appropriate in conjunction with President & CEO
    • Develop, recommend and implement the project plan after the project is awarded
    • Identify required and optional changes in project scope; negotiate change orders with the client
    • Ensure that project staff understand the company’s operating policies and practices, and applies these policies appropriately
    • Hire, coach/mentor and provide direction and review the performance of personnel reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager
    • Maintain safety standards in all aspects of each project

To be successful at METTKO, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
• Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineering degree or equivalent training and experience
• 10 plus years’ experience in the construction industry responsible for commercial projects $10 million and upwards
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of commercial/civil construction (technology, equipment, materials, negotiation, engineering, estimating, scheduling and safety)
• Knowledge of and experience with a variety of project delivery methods
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills required (tact, diplomacy, influence). Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
• Public sector experience is preferred
• Knowledge of Lean Design and Construction

Site Superintendent

METTKO is currently looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join the team. With a “safety first” approach, this position is responsible for overseeing the safe and effective execution of our Projects. The successful candidate will be driven, results-orientated and a team player; able to solve problems and present practical solutions to Project Managers, Engineers, and the Client.

As a Superintendent at METTKO you will:

• Provide overall construction management, including design, budget and schedule, in conjunction with the Project Manager, Owners, Engineers and Architects to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget on large complex projects
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing progression
• Assure construction compliance with design requirements and project construction schedule by supervising and coordinating site trades, other site management, field engineering and construction activities
• Ensure the implementation of METTKO’s Health and Safety Program to create a safe work environment on the jobsite and adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements
• Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving conflicts

To be successful at METTKO, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
• You have a construction related degree and eight to ten years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience working on large commercial projects
• You have experience with leading commercial and institutional projects from start to finish
• You have an advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings
• You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion
• You have strong scheduling experience with a proven ability to develop, maintain and execute both long term and short term schedules
• You are comfortable working with computers and previous experience with scheduling software
