Ontario Data Centre – Tier 1
Due to the sensitive nature of the financial institution’s ongoing operations in the building, this project required very extensive planning and tight controls. Major upgrades were made to the critical power systems. Significant complexity was added by the need to maintain security at all times and totally avoid any interruption of the electrical and mechanical services.
Scope included a major internal reconfiguration of the data centre to expand all departments’ footprints. This project was completed while operations continued uninterrupted. It required careful planning and control to maintain security, clean conditions, temperature, humidity, critical power and segregated access for the building tenants and construction personnel during the construction phase.
Except for two pre-arranged shut-down periods on weekends, the Data Centre was operational 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
